Volunteer Opportunities

There are a number of opportunities to volunteer with Andover, Hebron, & Marlborough Youth Services, Inc.  We depend greatly upon the time and effort of our volunteers.  Serving a community organization such as ours is a role that carries a great amount of responsibility.  If you are interested in seeking additional information about one or more of the following volunteer opportunities, please fill out our online information request form, which can be accessed by clicking the following link. Board of Directors

AHM is a state and federally recognized 501(C-3) non-profit corporation.  The organization is governed by a duly authorized Board of Directors.  Vacancies are filled for one- and two-year terms.  The process to become a board member involves an application, interview, and orientation process.

Mentoring Program—"Lanterns"

Beginning in the fall, the "Lanterns" Mentoring Program will begin serving children and families in our three communities.  Volunteers are asked to commit one hour per week during the school day to serve as a role model to their mentees.

Project Graduation

Beginning in the fall of each new school year, volunteers are sought to serve on a planning committee for this event.  Parents of RHAM juniors and seniors are strongly encouraged to help coordinate Project Graduation.  The program is staffed solely by volunteers; therefore, parent support and involvement in this program is of critical importance.  High school students and faculty are also encouraged to assist.

Substance Abuse & Violence Prevention Task Force

This volunteer opportunity involves serving on a regional community task force to reduce and eliminate incidences of community violence and substance abuse among the general population.  Parents, students, police officers, senior citizens, clergy, business leaders, other concerned citizens, and AHM staff join forces each year to coordinate and implement a wide range of activities.

Annual Telethon

Throughout the past decade, the annual AHM Telethon has proven to be a cost-effective and highly successful fundraiser for this grassroots community organization.  Local residents, organizations, and businesses who contribute to the telethon do so with the understanding that these tax-deductible contributions remain within the community.  There are no paid solicitors involved with this event.  That is why the telethon is dependent upon the efforts of more than 100 students and adult volunteers.
